Mission Statement Development + Team Building Exercise
Practice Clarity has worked with many clients to help generate meaningful, inspirational Mission Statements. A Mission Statement developed by your current staff creates a collective understanding of the purpose of your firm. It gives a foundation to your dailiness by describing why you do what you do. It clarifies your organization's purpose, it's raison d'etre.
Mission Statments often include values, defining what's important to the individuals working together. When done well, it is inspiring and gives your firm a sense of direction and meaning.
Practice Clarity has developed a fun (yes, believe it), interactive and efficient process to help you create a current mission statement. Depending on your firm's size, we like to invite everyone to participate. We can accommodate up to 30 people in our process. Prior to a 2-hour lunchtime work session, prework is distributed to generate thought. Then a fun, highly interactive, team-oriented process results in a draft mission statement. The draft is further refined and completed within 2 weeks of the exercise.
Recently a participant confided in me, "When I heard we were doing a Mission Statement, I thought 'borrrrring.' I had no idea this would be so much fun. I love what we came up with. it really captures the big picture of what I'm trying to do here."
This is a great team building exercise with an outcome that has the potential to shape and inspire your firm.
